ThrillerCast – a new weekly podcast with me in it

thrillercastI always say that the best description of my novels is dark fantasy thriller. They’re urban fantasy books, they’re full of magic and demons and gods and all that good stuff, but they’re also thrillers. I love the pace and urgency of a thriller, the page turning qualities of a book that you just can’t put down. I try to write that way. My books are published by Gryphonwood Press, which is recognised as a thriller market. By being published there I qualified for membership of International Thriller Writers.

So, with that in mind, my latest project shouldn’t seem too unusual. Together with my fellow Gryphonwood author, David Wood, we’ve started a weekly podcast where we talk about all things thriller-related. Basically all about writing, reading and publishing in the thriller genre. Naturally there’s a lot of genre crossover in the podcast – I’m a speculative fiction writer and David writes primarily in the adventure genre with his Dane Maddock books. We also explore where thrillers cross over into other genres and what goes into making a good thriller and so on. Each week we’ll post show notes so you can see what we’ve discussed in each episode.

The first episode of the ThrillerCast is up and ready for you to download. We’ll post a new podcast every week and each one will be a tight 20 minutes long. Just like a good thriller, it’ll leave you wanting more.

We’ve got our own ThrillerCast website here – http://thrillerpodcast.blogspot.com/

And you can follow us on Twitter to catch all the updates here – @ThrillerPodcast

I hope you enjoy it. It’s a new venture for us and we’re having a lot of fun. Hopefully we’ll get better at it as time goes on. Have a listen and let us know what you think. If you enjoy it, please help us spread the word.

  1. Crap, another podcast for me to listen to? I can barely keep up already!

In other news, I think you’re about to find out how much work it really is…Do you have a patsy to do the actual production?

  2. A patsy? That’s not very nice. Actually, it’s a team effort with me and David Wood, so fingers crossed it all works out. Dave is the one doing the recording and editing, however, and for that I’m very grateful indeed. But he’s not a patsy. No, sir.
