When I spotted it, I held my breath and checked what edition it was. No way could I afford a 1st edition, but it would be an amazing thing to find. When I discovered it was a 2nd edition, still an absolute treasure and maybe within my budget, I called out to the shop owner, "Are all these books in here for sale?" She replied, "Yes, all except The History Of Magic." Grrr! However, after much talk of books and our love of them, and after her admission that her car really needed rego, we agreed on a price and she let me have the book. What a great day.
