Whatever

I read this today and had to laugh. According to Language Log the Marist Institute of Public Opinion has released poll results that reveal the words and phrases that Americans find most annoying. The results were:

whatever – 47%
you know – 25%
it is what it is – 11%
anyway – 7%
at the end of the day – 2%

What the Marist Institute didn’t reveal very clearly was that the above phrases were the only options respondents were given to choose from. Ridiculous.

As one of the commenters over at Language Log said: “Poll results? Whatever. At the end of the day, it is what it is, you know?”

Anyway…

    Funny!

I read the “whatever” from the grammargirl tweets, but you know…whatever.

Yeah, like that joke’s not going to get old. ;)

I came over looking for your #fridayflash story!!! I need my weekly fix. :D

I’m sorry – I haven’t had a chance to do any Friday flash for the last couple of weeks. With Conflux and the subsequent backlog I’ve been a bit flat out. It might be a few more weeks before I get to do another one, but I’ll try…

If it’s any consolation, I’ve been working on other writing projects. Don’t think it’s because I’ve suddenly got a life or anything like that.

A writer with a life? Well, we couldn’t have that, now could we! Hehe

I figured you were busy. Just wanted to let you know you were missed. Rest up. :D

Thanks, it’s nice to be missed.

Ack! No #fridayflash! Oh the humanity! Sorry we’ll be missing you this week.
