So they DO have JK Rowling but they DON’T have HP Lovecraft?

And Foucault’s Pendulum is not fantasy which every way you stretch it. Name of the Rose by the same author makes a much better claim.

Cavan – The majority of books I’ve read aren’t on that list, so the whole thing is fairly arbitrary.

Dianne – If you look at the Guardian link at the start of my post you’ll see that they’ve broken their listing down into all sorts of categories. I haven’t found a specific childrens’ fiction section, but there are some interesting articles there.

There should be a list for children’s fiction as well, though I guess that books like Harry Potter appeal to a large audience. It is interesting to note that a few books from the above-mentioned list have been adapted for film and/or television as well.
